Multiple Monitor Dilema

I would get 2x Dell 2007WFP's. The extra space from the 20" screen would mean that you probably won't miss having a third monitor, especially seeing as it was only a 15". Also by spending more on the monitors you get a superior panel, more inputs and an excellent adjustable stand. You'd also save some money as they cost a lot less than £300.

If you were to go for the E207WFP x3 setup then you would end up with a lot of desktop real estate. This would be horrible due to the poor viewing angles of the TN panels in these screens. The monitors furthest away from you will experience bad colour distortion.

I love my Dell 2007WFP and am also thinking of getting another for after the exams :p

Good luck in the rest of your GCSE's btw. I've got Maths and Geography tomorrow, at least i've only got 2 more left after that!

Thanks. :)

I have Mathematics and Geography tomorrow, and then I have 5 more exams (I do Statistics, so I finish quite late [21/06/2007]).

Thanks for the advice. I am pretty sure I will get a dual monitor setup now. It seems like a waste of money to get three monitors at the moment, considering that it will cost me so much more than simply two. I can always upgrade in the future, and I believe two monitors will suffice.

Good luck with the exams. :p

I've got just Maths in the morning tommorow, but it is my birthday and I hope to get two 19" Asus Widescreen TFT's, using dual for Graphics Design and then one for Xbox 360 and PC seperately!

Have fun with your exams mate! :p

All you lucky gcse'ers, where do you get all this money? I can remember being your age and struggling to afford a 15" crt!

My little brother finishes his gcse's this friday, so best of luck to you all <3

Well i earned most of the money myself. I had two paper rounds for three years which payed for my stuff. Most of it was bought in bits and bobs though, i couldn't afford it all in one go.

I also finish my GCSE's on friday, only have two left after today!

Christmas and Birthday really for me. :p

(I don't buy much, and what I do buy tends to be related to computers).

Definately go for 2 2007WFPs, I have this setup and it's fantastic! These monitors are lovely, colours and viewing angles are great, the adjustable stands are very nice too, I'm definately going to get a third at some point.

Too late, I spent £300 of my Brithday Dosh on two Asus 19" Glass-fronted TFT's that can be had here for £104.99 Ex VAT each, a Belkin SurgeMaster, Saitek Eclipse, Saitek AV8R & Tagan 430W Modular PSU (Only running one if not two 8600GT's)

For a nice Price of £296 I believe! :p

But I would've bought the Xbox 360 VGA HD Cable and T6100 Insipre Speakers too if they were in stock; anyone know when the next shipment is? :D

I play a lot of 1st person shooters and can only imagine that running a 2 monitor system must be royal pita! Won't the crosshair be right over the bezels?

I think therefore for shooters a three monitor setup would work better but...

a) you have the viewing angle problem as stated above and

b) how do you run three monitors off a single gfx card?

Most games default to the primary monitor only and you need hacks to get it to work on both. Some games support multi monitors natively though. But in every case you would be able to run the game on only one screen so you won't have the crosshair problem.

With my dual monitors i usually run monitoring apps on the second screen so that i can monitor temps etc. Very useful when overclocking.

I am not a gamer. :p

You can get triple/quadruple/etc. head graphics cards, so that one graphics card can have many monitors (although these are generally quite specialised). I just use two graphics cards at the moment.

I am going to go for the two Dell monitors for now, and then upgrade if I want to at a later stage. :p
