mum getting annoyed at constant ff updates

my mum is getting annoyed at the constant updates to firefox and the add ons she has as she uses it on 4 machines each on different days so when one updates then for the next 4 days she'll be getting updates, then another etc.

any way to stop firefox asking and letting you know it has been updated? i know firefox will update automatically but add ons need verification before firefox will even start, then once updated you need to click continue. seems like a minor thing to be annoyed at but i can understand alittle as it is like a constant thing for her because she has a fair amount of add ons.

Not having browser updates = open security flaws = bad.

Go to Options, Advanced and the Update tab. You can untick the box to automatically update add-ons.

So many pc's get infected because 'Oh, those annoying updates, I mean they don't really do anything do they?'

Still, it pays quite well

that extension seemed to do the opposite of what i wanted, and also googling what you suggested only is giving ways to disable updates, not disable the notification of updates.

ah silly me seems the update notifier does what i want. name is a little misleading. thanks james

it does, try it lol.

the only other thing you need to do is disable the update message when firefox updates itself which i dont know how to do.

Does she moan that Windows wants to install updates on each machine too?

Firefox isn't too bad. But when you're running a few PC's its those 'daily' noscript updates that's annoying.

You just click yes and wait a few seconds and click OK something. It's really no biggie

I think he means can he make firefox do it without notifications as I agree it is annoying having each addon notify you if it changes etc
