When I was a kid, it was mum if I called to her, sometimes maman if I was talking about her, “as-tu vu maman”, (have you seen mum?)
My Polish girlfriend in the seventies said either mum, or droga mamusia, (dear mum) if writing her mother a card.

Mother, cause she's partially deaf, and I've found there's more chance of her hearing me.

The phrase "can you hear me, Mother?" comes to my mind. Some TV program ages ago.

For me, it's Mum. As it usually is in most of England. Mam in some other parts. Mom is USA.

Mum. The Mrs is from the West Mids and for her it's Mom.

Drives me ******* bonkers!

This place is becoming more and more like Facebook everyday.

Also, mum - all over the UK.
