Went to see it tonight, all was good, mum was happy, it's now sitting on the drive :)

1998 Ford Mondeo ST24, £1400.

Never in a month of Sundays thought she'd buy a car like that, but, I don't think we could have got much better for the money, and not bad considering we spotted it on Autotrader yesterday! ;)

£1400 would have got her a 2004 plate Jaguar S Type in about 2 months time. Shame she couldn't have hung on just a bit longer.

:D

I think I'll elect to not tell her that ;)

It was an "I need a car now" thing, and also an "I don't know what I want" thing, so when looking for all cars within 10 miles for ~£1500, it was the best thing that came up, I suggested it to her and she liked the look of it, so we went to see it! ;)

Theres a lovely Panther black ST-24 round by me at garage, its 2000 plate, and looks great, and best of all its only 1400 notes, hadnt realised they were that cheap now.

it DEFINITELY needs a de-tango, makes a big difference.

Also, you need to lose the ST24 turbines, worst alloys since 3 spokes. Get some st200 alloys on it and it'll look sorted, but maybe i'm biased :p

detango'd with st200 alloys and perhaps a subtle drop :p

Great idea, apart from one thing:

It's his mum's car :p
