Yeah I would have thought so mate, otherwise how would people decide on buying! I just remembered I used a trial version of FL Studio years ago

Also if you buy FL Studio you get free updates for life, so no need to pay for the next big version that comes out

For your DAW use Ableton Live....don't listen to anyone who hasn't tried it.

A lot of the VSTs I use are free, so I wouldn't bother splashing out on NI stuff to start with.
