Music DAW PC - spec help

Hi guys, after reading numerous specs on here and reviews of components, I was wondering if you would take a look at what I've spec'd out from a PC primarily to be used for audio production and creation.

I needs to handle large amounts of audio playback with realtime plugins etc.

Most importantly I've designed it to last me a long time, with the idea of not overclocking it yet but when it starts to feel the stress of new technologies over the next few years. It also needs to be fairly quiet. Budget around £1500 not including monitor(s), software or any audio hardware. (my soundcard is firewire based)

Thanks for your time, and I'm sorry my first post here is asking for help!

After reading a little more, i think it may be worth changing:

CPU to e6600
the 750gb HDD to two 400gb ones - or perhaps even one and buying an extra one when it is actually needed.

possibly the Scyth ninja over the artic freezer pro 7.

Would anybody go with anyother brand for the 4gigs of ram?

Thanks once again.

You dont need seperate SATA cables because the motherboard will come with them. Also, acoustic material for the pc is a really bad idea. Most of the time it smells & is just hassle.

yeh i guess it would be better to spend that money on a quieter case and fans, or just not at all unless the noise became a real problem.

Nice looking, but you have skimped (sp?) on the graphics card a bit. Prehaps with the money you saved from getting a 6600 instead of 6700, you could get something better?

to be honest with this computer i wont be gaming much at all, just the odd HL2 and Counter Strike: Source action ... so i thought i might not need any higher. althought i iwll look into it.
