Music Pc

Hi
i need to build a pc for making music,cubase,softsynths etc, i already have my soundcard left over from my last pc (emu 1616) i sold all my outboard recording equipment and want to solely use my computer i have around 400 quid to buy a mobo,cpu and ram,i just wondered what people think will be the best setup for such a thing.

400 for mobo cpu and ram? go for quad core (intel) and 4gb ram and an x31 CS you dont need specific branding.

who makes the x31 cs mate i cant seem to find one,unless im being dozy

sorry m8 by x i meant "insert letter" look up intel G31 or P31 ASUS boards come highly reccommended but lots of diff opinions
