I thought this could be a fun thread for expanding out musical horizons and venting our frustrations simultaneously :p

Having seen it recently live, I'm attempting to battle my way through Paul vs Godzilla by Paul Gilbert.

I love the Gilmour-esque soling, but the bit at 1.39 is just completely whooping my arse. I'm sure my housemate is going to throw my guitar out of the window soon :p

What are you currently learning to play on your instrument? :)

Wasn't doing much at the moment, but since you've mentioned this, I've now been inspired to learn Curse of the Castle Dragon, since it was one of my favourites on his first other album.

aim to have a youtube up of me playing by christmas. the really fast picado riffs are a bit insane, won't be able to manage them at that speed for a long long time..

Keyboard / piano.. Have Learnt a few songs, however since starting uni I dont have a great amount of time to use it so I'm still learning a thousand miles by vannessa carlton. Need to get motivated into spending more time with it!

I did invest my time into screaming vocals, as I was in a metalcore/hardcore band. But with my workload I've had to leave it. Did it for about 2 years though!

Ok, that 's it.. I've been playing around with this for a while.. time to find the full music if I can.

Drumming by the way..

Hey guys

I've been learning these

Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark
Iron Maiden - The Trooper
Paul Gilbert- I cannot Tell a Lie.
EVH- Ain't talkin bout Love

Solo to The Final Countdown.

Kindred Spirits - Liquid Tension Experiment

That final unison is pretty hard. Got it at about 75% speed at the mo.
