Hey,

So I recently acquired a PS3 and seeing as this console has been out a number of years now, I can afford to pick up loads of old games second hand.

So what games are a must have? Multiplayer not essential but a bonus if it is multiplayer offline.

Preferably not new releases a I can't really afford those.

Willing to give any genre of game a go (apart from singing/sport and guitar hero style games!)

Suggestions welcome :)

For bargain platinum and just generally cheap games give these lot a go most all are £20 or under in shops, possibly cheaper online.
Resistance 1 and 2
Infamous
Killzone 2
Metal gear solid 4
Uncharted 1
GT5 Prologue

Also do you have a 360, if not then get some of the multiplatform games

Is it that time of the week already?

Add Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time to the above list. Fantastic sequel to Tools of Destruction. :)

Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty is also worth a go off the PS Store, but it is quite short.

will throw in everybody's golf: world tour, before nanoman does :p

<pushes nanoman out of the way> :p

Hey that's my favourite PS3 game !!

Seriously though don't underestimate how awesome 'Everybody's Golf: World Tour' is, such a fun game, and don't let the cute aesthetics put you off either as it is a very competent golf game but with a fun art style.

If you like action games there is no excuse to not get the Ninja gaiden sigma games, they are the best action games out. It's the only 3D game you'll play where you will feel like you are controlling a ninja, combat and movement is just so fluid compared to more rigid action games.

Must have would depend on what genre you like though. I'm not much of a racer fan so GT5 wouldn't interest me for example but even so Motorstorm was fun.

I really like the following PSN games

Pixel Junk Eden,
Pixel Junk Shooter
Flower
Flow
Echochrome.

I seem to play them more that the Triple A stuff, must remind me of how games used to be before eye candy took over.

Purely based on how cheap you can pick them up, I wouild recommend Motorstorm, Resistance, Uncharted 1, Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet, Killzone 2 and MGS4.

All available for well under £20 (the first 4 you can probably get for significantly under a tenner), and all are top quality games.

Plus, by the time you're done with them the sequels and newer games should have come down nicely in price.

Demon Souls - Will have to import and will cost the best part of 40 sheets, but will be the best 40 sheets you'll ever spend :D

Amazing game!!!
