Hi guys.

I've been away from PC gaming for ages and now I really feel like playing through MW2 but I'm not sure if my PC will handle it.

C2D E4600 2.4Ghz
4870 512MB
4GB DDR2

Should I be ok? What settings could I expect to run it at?

Cheers

It should run fine at max details, although you will probably not be able to apply much if any AA with only 512mb.

Also you will benefit from overclocking your CPU to 3.2-3.5GHz

Yeah I do usually run clocked at 3.00Ghz but a dodgy bios battery has stopped me from running the OC. Need to get a new one soon.

Cheers guys.

It will run it ok, don't know why you would want to though after IW ruined it.

They've definately got work to do but ruined is a stong word! I've only played it at a LAN Gaming centre but it was brilliant.

Getting it for xmas, hope they've sorted this whole server nonsense out..

I only intend single player anyway. Have never been much for COD online, more so now I've heard PC MW2 doesn't get dedicated servers, but that's for another thread. :p

That's surprising, to me cod is all about the multiplayer nowadays, the single player campaigns just seem like bonus content, especially when they're like 5 hours long.
Yeah cod should run fine on your rig, you could always drop some eye candy/lower the resolution if you're unhappy with your framerate too.
To be honest, IW.net isn't as bad as I expected.

I tried MW2 today and even at the starting scene FPS is awful. It's around 9-10 FPS but if I look at the sky it shoops up to 200FPS.

Now I remember why I hate PC gaming so much, have to upgrade everytime a game comes out!

Lies?! They give a reason why? :(

You know IW, they tell us nothing :( They're trying to turn the pc into a console by the looks of things.
You kind of get used to it, but it's not keeping up with how fast your brain is going when you play a game like that. COD 4 walks all over it in spiky heels for this and many other reasons.
