mw3 pre load is live now

Means he is downloading via steam or something now so on the day of release he can play right away without having to download on release day.

Thanks for the heads up!

A pre-load allows you to download the entire game now. The game is encrypted so you can not play it untill release. Upon which time the game is decrypted and you can play it. It helps to prevent everyone downloading the game at once.

I expect he meant how the game ran like crap on a lot of more than capable systems.

For example on my old QX9650 (not sure if I had a 480 or 580 gtx at the time) I'd get loads of stuttering and fps anywhere between 60-120. Upgrading to an i5 2500k sorted this out instantly and gave perfect 120 fps.

Anyway, preloading now - cheers for heads up :D

no offence but why would you buy MW3 on PC???

After playing black ops which was a total let down as it ran like crap compared to MW2 im totally put off by the game.

also £40 for mw3 compared to £30 and less for BF3 really is quite crazy

um what happened exactly? please do enlighten us.

Probably that for many, many people the game played very poorly on even high spec machines, the single player campaign (which IMO was excellent in places in MW2) was ridiculously dire, the multi-player featured lots of annoying things (like the worst spawn system known to mankind - kill a dude and he spawns behind you in knifing distance - WTF!?) and the fact you couldn't return the game as it was tied to Steam. Add in that Activision paid lots of reviewers to only say great things about the game and the fact that CoD games are generally quite expensive and lots of disgruntled people ended up with what was a pretty pricey, but useless box and couldn't do squat about it.

I swapped a hat I found on TF2 for Skyrim and MW3 pre-orders on steam, Otherwise I would have picked it up on 360 as it will probably be pretty good on there and BF3 is horrible on there

Still better graphics on PC than consoles with their aim assist etc, we're not limited to 720p

Never had any problems with Black Ops technically, even with my old system (Q9400 on a ATI 5750) Only problem was the ridiculous distance you could melee before it was nerfed

I ran it on a Q9550 with a 4870 1GB and it ran fine, could run it at 1920 x 1200, max settings with 4x AA and have above 60 fps majority of the time. Didnt stutter at all. I thought most of the problems were due to people using dual cores?

I would say because it looks better on pc, its better (imo) to play with a keyboard and mouse, people may have friends that all play it on pc, dedicated servers (to a certain extent), modded servers etc. Not to mention that its cheaper on PC's.

The game ran as good as MW2 for me. Ran better on my old pc than BF3 on my new pc.

:D

The game ran fine on my old system, which was by no means high spec. I much prefered the single player of BO to BF3. I only found issues with the spawn system on Nuke down with certain game modes.
