MW3 to have dedi servers added

"Bells and whistles"
"Dedicated servers"

When did they stop being a normal feature?

Agree. I'm a fan of the COD series as well and have bought all of them so far but this one is looking to be abit of a sour grape as the publisher quite clearly wants to just milk the playerbase dry without putting any effort in what so ever with this. Disappointing so far.

I can't confirm anything yet, but right now we're having conversations about dedicated servers, mod tools and post launch support

thats all i saw ....:o

Yup, sounds like it's going be iw.net again but with them maybe adding dedicated servers at a later date.
Unless I'm being too cynical (sorry mr bowling but you made me this way :D ) and it means that both local hosting and dedicated server will be available at launch.
I'd change the title of this thread if I were you :D

theyll be discussing prices with someone like like the nabs who hosted bops seeing what deal they can get and is it worth it . if its better financially theyll do mw2 route .

so basically theyve not done the deal yet or youd know ;)

But but..wasn't iwnet the be all end all, no need to worry about cheats and have better ping times. Stick it up your ass Activision.

ahahah the useless morons still dont have a clue. We dont your crappy iwnet it sucks more than all the dysons ever made.

I swear I would actually pay to see this be the biggest failure in gaming history it would be so sweet.

We don't want your half hearted crappy server support months after release that will split the player base.

I won't claim to know a whole heck of a lot but, INfinity ward of old essentially had the main product cycle for the game, the new guys have had a lot less time I assume on a fairly tight schedual. Game getting out is priority number 1, the fact that they seem at least potentially willing to fix some other things afterwards is encouraging.

If they essentially re-do the servers then by the time the next game comes around they'd have it basically ready to go from the start.

It could be BS and they have no intention of doing it, who knows, who really cares.

Either they'll do it as well as old Infinity ward and its a good single player with a bit of fun MP on top, or it will be like Black Ops, utter turd. I don't bother buying the inbetween games from the "other" guys, but willing to give the other guys a shot.

Robert Bowling...."We are reaching out to PC community", why ?

They couldn't give a stuff about PC players with MW2.....Hmm...BF3 ?

That guy is a complete asswipe.

WTF? they can go to hell with their **** poor tacked on dedicated servers
when MW2 came out i must admit even tho i was outraged they removed them
i still bought it it anyway because really the only alternative at the time was Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising..... and that didn't have it either

This time we have a truly AAA game in BF3 and i think most of the PC users wont buckle this time

Tbh, even if they do, it's going to be like Black Ops dedi servers, which imo weren't what i'd call dedi servers. ONE game service provider, 16 player cap, no mods (that I saw), no ability to actually change anything in the game (that I saw) etc etc. It was just matchmaking with a decent ping.

Edit. Reading the article again, do you really think this will happen? They'll say pre-launch "Ok, dedi servers and mod support it is", then bail on that idea after the launch.
