It appears MW3 cheaters are getting their due.

The developers behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 say they have banned more than 1,000 players from the online version. Infinity Ward's Creative Strategist, Robert Bowling, used Twitter to explain what was happening.

"Any attempt to cheat, hack, or glitch in #MW3 will not be tolerated. 1600+ bans issued. Updates in works."

He then went on to answer questions from his followers about how to report gamers suspected of cheating.

"There's a button in game after a match," he said. "Click on them in the lobby and it gives option to View Gamercard + Report Player.

"Stats are always recorded, we can verify and detect cheating without video proof."

Gamers who cheat their way to higher XP, or experience points, can often be vilified by the gaming community. Genuine players can block them or, in this instance, follow Robert Bowling's advice and report them. Robert Bowling said in the case of Modern Warfare 3 different bans were available depending on how serious the cheating was.

"Every ban unique to the level of douchiness of the offense.

"The greater the douche the greater the length. PermaDouche possible."

I hope I haven't been banned as unwillingly/unknowingly joined a hacked server and levelled from 40 to 80 with one kill.

Not that i'd particularly be that arsed, haven't touched it in weeks.

Well yeah, obviously, you're not going to ban every hacker, as theres a hacker born everyday.

I hope they do, cheaters deserve it. It sad if you cant play a game under your own skill but rely on "aids" to win? What the point? :confused:
 
Ok so they have banned 1600+ hackers and cheats.
Its just the tip of the iceberg, what a waste of time!
 
The report button could have a a flyout menu with a few options for their offence. Things like, suspected cheating, abusive, doesn't play well in a team or whatever.

After a while, each time the player goes to play a game, the match maker takes in to account their history and matches them up with similar players. That way, all the cheaters don't end up being banned they just play with fellow cheaters and people that don't do team work just end up in games where everyone else is a lone wolf.

Could work? I haven't played MW3 though. :P
 
don't worry, I am Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 3 player, have been playing it since release day and have seen a number of quite obvious hackers, all of which have been reported. the ones I have seen are people from a clan called (DARK) who appear to be using aiming hacks, kill-cams show their reticules instantly snapping straight to the head (even when in smoke from a smoke grenade!), proved this using a Riot Shield and didn't crouch, killed them ton of times as all the bullets were heading for my face rather than my exposed feet, so reported three of them who were obvious hackers.

another one was someone running around under the levels, did this on three levels in a row resulting in 40 or 50 kills and no deaths, again obvious hacker and reported. what else? there was this other bloke who was hacking again when he one shot killed me, prone with stealth perks and shrouded in smoke from a grenade (should be impossible to see me right?) wrong, he ran into the area (kill-cam) his gun snapped to my head even though I wasn't visible, obvious hacker and reported. really wish these sad people would take a hike and stop ruining one of the best multi-player games, stop ruining for everyone else, hackers can be made fools of as well when you realise they are using aim hacks, can just take the mick out of them using a Riot Shield. :D
 
lol this is pointless...ban 100k and 300k more will be back the next day. same with any game people get stressed to high hell with and find themselfs too crap to play an "easy" game and then just go off and cheat

mostly kids, but there are them people who cant for the life of them play games without having to spoil it for others, think its somthing to do with them being abused who knows.

Every round I've played today there's been a wall hacker.

I have all the perks that make you invisible and silent and they still track you through walls and objects, they don't even try to hide it.

IW can state all they want that they want a clean game, but once they've got your money they could give a fig.

I'm just glad that my game cost me a net £15 after I old the PSU it came free with.

I would like to know how there can be cheats in Xbox games when it's a closed platform. How do they work?
