MX4 Thermal Paste

running 4.4 ghz (21 x 210) with HT enabled at vcore 1.31v at windows under load and 1.37vcore at bios. temp is lots better than last time as it only get 82, 81, 79, 80 with mx4 on prime for an hour

Everyone should thank Ace Modder - he is the guy who bought the stock into OcUK.

All hail the legend that is Ace Modder!

Well I bought it and wow did I see an improvement. Ok so I admit I bought a 2nd apache black too, but my temps have dropped a massive amount.

I am still testing but I have dropped my cores from 85'c to 77'c at 3.6Ghz. I was running at 3.2Ghz for ages as I didnt like the 3.6Ghz temps, but now I am testing 3.6Ghz stability and loving the temps. Very well done!

Told ya! The MX-4 is the winner overall! Glad you're happy now :)

I'm still gona wait for some more feedback as most of the reviews i've read claim its worse than mx-3 or on par.

Tbh, ive recently used mx3, as5 and the stuff that comes with prolimatech and thermalright coolers, on a scale, the best was the thermalright chillfactor followed by the prolimatech stuff, after that came mx3 and then as5, i wouldnt even buy as5 now, not that its bad paste, just that its no good for chipset application unlike as ceramique which makes as5 a bit less useful inmho.

Just replaced my OEM cooler and OEM paste on my AMD 965 at stock 3.4. Using Core Temp and applied the paste using the spread method and a card

OEM Cooler and paste
Idle 34
Under load 54

Nero S and MX-4
Idle 20 and its dropped as low as 19
Under load (about to find out will repost back)

Hmmm, I am in need of somemore TIM, looks like I'll be buying some of this stuff to test out, as I am planning on buying a new CPU block to replace my Heatkiller 3, so I will buy some MX4 when I get myself a new block.

Happy belated birthday bulldog, hope you had a nice one mate. :)

I tended to default to AS5 or LiquidPads, which always worked well for me, but this thread and lunch time research into the topic, convinced me to give some real science a go. I am looking forward to testing this TIM out next Saturday in my setups.

I was hooked on AS5 for as long as I can remember. I have some prolimatech lying around somewhere but thats for emergency use only. MX4 is my new pick of the crop.

passed Intel Burn Test for 12 hours on very high max temp is recorded at 79C on the 4.3ghz with HT enabled which it very good to kept it below 80C on the noctua d14 with one fan of viper spin around 1500-1525rpm (room temp is 24c). Two push pull of viper fans with a maximum spin of 1850-1875rpm would get it lower than 75C and that is MX4 on it.
