MX5 Owners in here....bring your curling tongs

Additional rear camber might help -2.6 ish. I had minor rub with 235 AD08 235 csc5s were fine, camber helped, I've had a little lip roll now though so I cry test 245/255 at some point :D

Rear cambers at -1.6, really like how it currently handles so I don't want to go playing now I've got it set.

I'm just going to sell the wheels, bought them second hand so should be able to get what I paid for them. :D

Got my new wheels on my NC!

Unfortunately, because my car is silly low, they catch on the arches just a gnats todge.

My new wheels are back off my NC!
Ive ordered some 215 45 17s for mine and im hoping I dont have this issue as mine is pretty damn low as well, but you said yours only rub slightly so I might be ok?

Or you can fit 215/45 which is the generally recommended size.

You'll be fine, I have 215/45 on my daily alloys. The main issue is the offset of the wheel and the width of the alloy being 8j.

I got the wheels on a whim because they were cheap, I've got a 3rd set of 16's that came on the car to being with and they're pretty damn light, so i think I'll just get some tyres for those with the money I get from selling the ones that don't fit

Yup I run 8J with a 48 offset and -2.6 camber 235 fits, there was a minor rub on very big compressions with wide track rubber at that size, never an issue with road rubber.

What phone holders work well for a MK2.5? With the round vents it does seem that standard air vent holders won't work, but not sure what would be best to use the phone as satnav rather than jamming it in the door holders with the speaker up and going on audio alone.

Brodit pro clip IMHO

Slots into the centre console trim on the passenger side. Its an expensive solution at £50 or thereabouts though

Hmm, I'll have a look, if you've got one have you got any pictures of it installed? I guess I was thinking of keeping it driver side just for security of the device with rood & windows down, even though its only a few inches across.

Also heard the Wofalo Car Phone Holder isn't meant to be too bad, although a tad less quality in the build I'm sure! Although saying that my vents are very loose, not sure if thats just my car though!

Just looking around as I think I need to finally put a bluetooth audio stereo in the car so I'm not stuck with Radio 1 and CDs!

I've used http://www.tetrax.com/ magnetic holders in the past (admittedly with phones smaller than the present smartphones) - nice and discrete magnet on dash when not in use swayed me towards that over a bulky phone holder.

Saying that, in my present car, I've got a cd-slot phone mount in the glove box, so any rare time I want to mount my phone, I just clip it into the cd-slot and sorted...
