Mx518 Finally Died

My MX500 at work is still going. I've currently got some tape and a tiny cable tie keeping the left micro-switch in place after fixing that three times over the last two years (Had to bend the metal into shape as it gets fatigued). As mentioned, also helps to take it apart to defluff/degunk the scroll wheel as they are a prone to sticking.

Currently have no issues with my MX518 at home although I haven't taken that apart yet to clean.

Can't stand the new designs of the latest mice though.. what was Logitech thinking?

I replaced my trusty old mx518 a couple of years ago with the g400 and its great, same shape and weight but more dpi and better feet imo.

brought 2 more g400 as back ups as i read its being replaced with the g400s which i think is ugly

Yeah the G400S is ugly, my G500 is on it's wayish out, mechanically works fine but the rubberised material is coming off, it has been for months but it's getting worse now so much so that my thumb slips but I prefer the 500s so I'm actually hoping that they'll run out of stock and give me a G500S as it looks sooo much better.

A few months back I bought a steelseries sensei.

About one month ago when doing a clear out of my kids room and in particular their box full of console crap I happened to find my old mx518.

I was joyous.

Guess what mouse I use most...

Yup the mx518.

125 hz compared to 1000 etc and it still feels nicer and smoother.

I love it.

I don't recommend the G500 I started having a double clicking issue with it which apparently a lot of people get. It's something to do with static you can find a fix here

On a serious note, I genuinely do have a nearly un-used MX518 in it's box. I originally bought it to replace my G5 but preferred the G5 and reverted back after a five or six days. It's been in my computer room since...

If anyone here is actually interested in it I'd be happy to make a deal through members market... I have no use for it and I know how difficult it is to come across them now, as it's similarly the case with the G5.

I swear by my G5. Definitely the best mouse shape of all time so far
I love my g5 dearly but recently pressing either side buttons it turns down the DPI from medium to lowest of the low and if I put it back to highest dpi then it's still very low sens. Only way to fix it is jumping out of whatever applicaton, more commonly a game, and then changing DPI back...

I'm using my MX518 as we speak, it is legendary, the scroll wheel started scrolling itself so I hit it against the wall till it worked again properly. They don't make mice like this anymore it seems

Looks like I found my fix
