my 2nd crash D: NSF56k

He asked whether he should claim so I assume he is FC :) I would have thought that there would be no question of NOT claiming, unless his insurance is extremely expensive.

Good point, however some people don't like to claim (when they are young and paying exorbitant amounts of insurance), and like to absorb the costs themselves - obviously this could be prohibitive if the cost of repair is greater than the cost of claiming and paying the increased premium and excess.

I just hope that he doesn't get messed around by the insurance companies.

How much would it cost to get that fixed up professionally, assuming that the damage is purely cosmetic (best case scenario). A couple of grand?

new front bumper, new wing, new door by the looks, new rear quarter, new boot and possible new rear bumper. then you have the light to sort out and paint it up.. Even if its a write off or they decide to fix it.. surely its going to be cheaper going with your insurance?.. i cant see a body shop quoting you under £1k for that to be honest.

Glad you are ok.

unlucky!

theres something about you mx5 drivers at the moment!

found some muppet being pulled out of a central reservation and 2 legged sign earlier, 3 young kids in a 106, nice scrape along the side then 2 vertical dents where they embedded the car into the legs of the sign. had come round the roundabout way too fast, skids on the floor and tyre tracks in the mud after the kerb. looked the typical chav as well. 11am on a sunday morning on a busy roundabout/dual carriageway. :/

No idea. It doesn't look cheap though.

Indeed. It would also depend on what you mean by 'professional'. Cheapest fix would be to go to a breakers/garage who might be able to cannibalise another car if you were VERY lucky. This would still be expensive I would say.

Gah, I drive an Audi.

I've also joined Freefaller turbo club, we're going to hold meets and do a magazine.

Hi mate, my mate got charged just under £1k for damage worse than that, he had a new quater put in, boot floor straightend and a few minor dents filled then a FULL spray. Work is not shoddy either. Very good sprayer. Id pay no more than £1k to ahve that fixed. That would be including full paint.

Glad to see no one hurt, have had some cars sideways last night and this morning, it's deceptively slippy out in some parts esp. roundabouts let's hope the cold snap doesn't see too much more of this.
