my 3red lights on 360..had since day 1..£80 to get fixed...what you guys think?

I feel for you mate, there is no way you should have to be shelling out for a new one given the 360`s track record. But i guess your going to have to bite the bullet :(

phone again, tell them you bought it in november from "a well known competitor that sells consoles", if they say its out of warranty, argue with them and keep telling them you bought it in novemer and boom all of a sudden they will send out a courier to get it fixed, just tell them there is a glitch in there system, it worked for me

Hey all. My 360 given up :( had it from day one. Rang up ms and couldnt get anying out of them...out of warrenty. 80 to get it fixed...what shall i do :(
Not take no for an answer. A £280 console should not be failing 18months later - you could argue that it should last at least 5 years.
Look into the Sale Of Goods Act and begin legal proceedings. The fact that the 360 has known reliability problems should make it an easy win.

Just want to add something - it's the retailer you need to speak to if you want to go down the sale of goods act route. Technically speaking you didn't buy it from Microsoft so you have no legal redress against them, but you do have a solid case against the retailer who actually sold you the 360.

Best thing to do is write to the retailer (use recorded delivery) asking them to cover the cost of repair and telling them about your rights under the sale of goods act and telling them of your intention to sue them via the small claims court if they refuse.

I had the same problem a few weeks ago, went to b&q got some washers, screws and fixed it myself for the grand total of £6... hasnt faulted since and have been playing pretty much constantly. Obviously try sales of goods first, but if you lose patience this is always an alternative.

lol....tried the towel tip...wrapping the 360 in towels so it gets hawt...for about 15min (aparently) on the old boards some of the tiny solders break..this heats the mobo up reconnecting the solder haha! left in towel for 15min...left to cool for ten min...BIN WRKIN EVA since...gunna leave off and try too morra morning.. Fingers crossed.!

O and btw..the 80 gets consol fixed and 1yr warrenty...thing is tho i was speaking to a reet retard...wasent based in england. (thats no insult to other contries) just he couldnt speak good english and he wasnet botherd what i was saying.
