the car started life as a 2.8l vr6 4motion with every option apart from sat nav. at some point somebody hit a rock and smashed the sump off the motor it got written off as cat d.
the previous owner to me bought it and a scrap r32 golf then proceeded to swap everything mechanical apart from the brakes
ie engine wishbones steering rack suspension arbs etc i bought it from him like that about 12 months ago

iv got some updates iv ordered a set of ecs stage 5 brakes these have 355mm 2 piece disks and porsche cayene 6 pot callipers and are ****** huge!

iv also got my rotrex kit itl run 15 psi and make 475 hp and 400 lb ft  il get some pics up later of that

http://i43.tinypic.com/ka2yd2.jpg

very stealthy and itl go like ****
mods so far are
kw v3 suspension
nuespeed front and rear arbs
3 strut braces
poly bushes thoughout
75% reduced throw gearshift
race haldex controller (far more aggressive than stock and goes full 50/50 torque split also works off throttle position not just wheelspin)
boost gauge oil temp and oil pressure gauge
dubpower prototype big bore and port matched 6 branch exhaust manifold
full custom 3" exhaust system with big bore custom decat pipe
carbinio induction kit (makes it sound a little like the 12v vr6 which is a very good thing)
18" oz superleggeras with 245 40 18 potenza s02 (225/35/18s in the pic)
YouTube - exhaust
YouTube - launch

bits to do
get the brakes fitted
get the intercooled rotrex kit fitted with wossner low comp pistons
get the water injection fitted
run it in
go for 12s at santa pod

got the wheels refurbed and painted now theyr back on the car the problem with a good camera is it shows EVERYTHING lol

oh it comes up nice when i clean it properly

rear looks lower than it is because the front nearside wheel is on a kurb but no other wheels are iv had to get genuine r32 wheels on because i couldnt get the superleggeras to fit over the brakes :(

il bear that in mind
but trust me round here especially in this weather its filthy within 2 days of cleaning it the shape of the booft creates low pressure which sucks a lot of crap into it (also adds drag but thats another topic lol)

heres a launch vid WITHOUT the charger 240 hp max

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzhtWEOQeQQ
i had a very nice 4wd controller on it then FAR more aggressive than standerd and worked off throttle position didnt wait for wheelspin. iv ordered a manual controller from holland but it seems to have disappeared in the post!! it means i set the 4wd anything between fwd and 50/50 split i can leave it permenant 4wd if i want :)

the stock controller is rubbish for doughnuts its fwd until it detects wheelspin and theres a delay before it puts some power (only 20-30%) to the rear wheels. it feels clumsy and lazy when you play in the snow but its doable

3rd gear driftin a bit

2nd gear doghnuts changed to 3rd at the end itl prob do them in 6th lol

Ah, i was under the impression the videos he posted was of his car.

they are my car i made a mess of the 1st post i copied and pasted it without reading it properly :p
i also got a 2 day ban from the forum for naughty language (think father ted) it suprised me as id expect a warning 1st but hay ho :p

yes iv got r32 wheels on it now the charger brakes etc are all fitted the engines run in im just chasing down the last stupid sensor fault. the water/methanol injection makes a hell of a difference and the rolling road was done without it connected.

i dont see why you cant run the haldex in fwd mode (i did indeed pull the fuse for the rr) its not a mechanical centre diff so theres nothing actually being stressed. im also waiting for a manual haldex controller to arrive from holland when thats in i tell it what % torque split to run anywhere between 0 (fwd) and full 50/50 split permenant if i want.

any other questions/suspicions? :D

And the thread gets derailed as per......

Love it sounds awesome, bet its bloody scary.

its actually a doddle to drive because of the way a centrifugal supercharger works. the power increases extremely smoothly you get no big thump like most turbos it just keeps pulling harder and harder the more revs you give it + with it being 3.2l you just stick it in 6th gear at 25 mph+ and waft round anyway
