My amusing gpu saga (continued)

It never ends. :(:(:(:(
I think this is the wrong waterblock
Not sure if just ****** the 2080ti screwing the block down
All because the card with the block prefitted was grabbed from under my nose
Damn I don't know whether to laugh, cry or kick something right now :(:(:(:(

Surely if it was the wrong block the screw holes wouldn't align or it just wouldn't sit flush? Unless you've forced it...
Screw holes lined up
It was sitting a little high just resting on there
But looked like was the vrm thermal pads holding it up
It might be OK I tightened screws but didn't crank them really tight

Hopefully it's just the pads holding it and it works ok I was nervous when I did my first 680 lol but it went ok thankfully
Pretty sure it's wrong block
Either I messed up some how and ordered wrong block or wrong block got sent
All because of the card with prefitted block being snaffled from under me
Nothings going right at all since
Though I had a few hours testing it playing on ultra settings lol
So guess could be worse somehow

If that's the case hopefully it will still work with the air cooler until you get the right block can't you check to see if its compatible on manufacturers website
Yeah I did check several times
Looked right
But of course being dyslexic it doesn't help with the naming schemes some gpu manufacturers use

Ah ok hopefully they'll get in touch quick and tell you its the right block all the screws line up so could be the right one
It's possible the screws will line up on all of them
But the vrms/power phases might be in slightly different places or something
I looked at the indents on the block
And tried to picture it flipped over
To think if they lined up
But guess could have pictured it in my head wrong

Might just be overly chunky thermal pads on the VRM's etc?

Fingers crossed it could just be a case of ordering some slimmer ones and swapping them out.
That was my initial thought
When I just sat the block on and looked at it
But as far as I did tighten the screws down it wasn't having the effect I think it should have
And right block the pads should be right thickness any way

I take it you didn't force anything when putting block on if not you might just have to put the air cooler back on and send the block back and get another block pita but hopefully no damage to card just inconvenient
Didn't force it
But even tightening the screws so far if
Unlucky won't take much to break something
Most expensive single pc component I have ever bought and its been a disaster from start to finish
I could put the air cooler back on
But my loops partially disconnected to allow for putting the 2080ti in lol
And right now not in the mood to go near the card or my pc or loop
Just starting to chill back down now
After a hefty dose of diazepam :D:D

Hopefully won't be to long a wait are you going to put air cooler back on for now or leave it
Going to leave it for now I think
Or would just have to remove the air cooler again
Just asked customer support if they would be kind enough to prioritise delivery given The circumstances of all this carry on
