I promised myself i'd get a macbook as soon as apple released it. Sold my iBook 12" and now I have myself a new toy!

Excuse the fact it's not a Pro and the Cinema Display is only a 20", I am still a student so the nicer stuff will have to wait!

As with any apple toy I get, here is the photo ceremony

I am also a Student, so I will have to wait for nice stuff too

I don't own any Apple products unfortunatly, but they look so nice :)

Im looking forward to the day, when I have finished University, got a good job and am able to buy this sort of stuff

What do you mainly use your maccy goodness for? Would you ever consider going PC, do you use windows XP via bootcamp?

Very nice collection :)

1) Why didn't you buy a desktop instead? It seems (going by the wireless keyboard and desk setup) that it's going to used, primarily, for desktop use.

2) Is this a willy waving thread?

3) Why do we need to know what you've bought?

1) nice stuff
2) i can see your definately form over function. not a problem, but not me.
3) other than that, cant really complain. nice stuff, but not my style.

Wonder much the poor Chinese got paid for making that stuff?

Apple admits excessive iPod hours
Apple did not specify what the minimum wage for the area was but the original report in the Mail on Sunday said staff earned as little as £27 a month.

No wonder they are so damn rich

So why can't they sell the iPod's etc to use for like 60% cut price, they would still make a good profit

Because certain people appreciate that Apple wants to rip them off, and are happy to pay for this privelage in exchange for a white-washed good. :)

Apple are just awesome at producing products, once you try it there is no turning back:D

Very nice collection :)

Well last year was the first time I bought a mac (12" ibook) and it was mainly to be used for coursework and general uni stuff but I found myself using it a lot more than my desktop PC (which at this point was only used for connecting to my speakers).

Now i've decided to properly switch over, I have sold my PC and can now do everything that I need to do on my mac (bit of web design/programming/office/internet etc). So really I have gone from PC to mac and I will NOT install xp on this machine.

1. I had a desktop but i'm rarely at my desk. The setup in the photo will only last another week because I will be moving back to uni and so I need a desk solution at uni and have something I can use on weekends and outside. I was thinking of getting a Mac Mini for a desktop solution but this kills two birds with one stone so to speak.

2. Yes pretty much

3. You don't have to reply if it doesn't interest you:)

Thanks, I appreciate your opinion but it's not really form over function. The macbook is a very well spec'd laptop for the money, seeing as it cost me only £650 for something which will cater for all my needs and has OS X which was my requirement. The screen is a bit form over function though, I have just bought the Dell equivelent panel for my dad which only cost £300. The keyboard is wonderful to use, easily one of the best I have tried. The mouse will get some getting used to but I like the fact the scrolling can be horizontal and vertical.

Absolutely it is. However, I think it was created on the foundation idea that some people would like to see this particular willy.

Hehe, I enjoy seeing nice things other people have bought so I'm just doing the same.

Yeah gurdas I love your new stuff :)

I really enjoying looking at pictures of peoples warez
Especially when they are new and in boxes, then set up :)

Real nice stuff mate, the only Apple products I will be getting is iPod and one of those nice Monitors :D

I like Windows
May get a Mac if I have a spare £600 in the future

Why is it always with Apple?

This is hardly new to me...in fact, there are major companies doing that already including global sport brands such as Nike. Try googling 'Nike Labour' and you will find plenty of it! Nike makes football shirts from poor labour/countries yet lots of people buying them at high price.

gurdas, I enjoyed seeing your pictures and I hope to get macbook after christmas! :)

The prices aren't THAT bad:

iPods - ok perhaps a bit expensive but they do the job very nicely, my ipod shuffle was free

macbook - excellent value

Cinema Displays - very expensive, but the panel is superb quality

keyboard and mouse - reasonably priced for bluetooth equipment

nothing is ever for "free", you have a nice clean setup, looks very good, not used a mac since school, can you overclock macs? and in terms of speed how do mac's do compared to pc's?

What do you mean it wasn't free? I got it as part of the iPod education rebate deal, got a free printer too as part of the 'perfect companion' rebate. I don't think you can overclock macs and this one has a 1.83ghz intel core duo so it is pretty nippy.

Jeez, as a student how can you afford even that one???? :p

When i was a student, i had to borrow my brothers Pentium P60!
Even worse is that when I was a student pocket calculators had just come out and there were even analogue computers for a bit.
