My BFG RMA experiance

Jeff. tell your suppliers to get their asses in gear! Can't find a BFG GTX 275 anywhere anymore! :P

Good deal. If it ends up being the card let me know and I'll get you taken care of :D

Thanks for the offer, but the BFG card still lives! Just stuck it back into my main rig and played FEAR 2 without a hitch, in fact, performance was great for its age.

Plugged it back into my other PC and turn on the power - bang! Guess it was the PSU giving up all along. That'll be my second Corsair HX620 that's done that, not happy :(. I think they have to be sent abroad, going to cost a bomb.

This GFX card (provided it didn't die with the PSU) looks like it'll last 10 years though, solid card this G80.

I'm curious about that too, Kyrne. What is the video card doing/not doing? Any specifics would help greatly.

From other thread,

Okay, not sure if this is right place but i guess its a graphics card/driver problem.

All was good and well untill I bought L4D other day, soon as i tried to play it boom the game would freeze with repeating sound and red dots all over screen, I thought it was a driver issue so i installed the lastest Drivers and so on but that made the problem worse. I've tried rolling back / uninstalling but no avail. I get it now in any game i try and even in windows, unsure now if this is a driver issue or maybe a sign of my card dying (8800GTX)

Update on the problem, it started just in L4D / TF2 After i fiddled with drivers i managed to stay ingame for about 5/10minutes, then after that it went back to 5 seconds, and even happening in windows whenever i loaded something up and used the scroll bar (ie Internet Explorer / Solitiare!) So i ook the card out and cleaned it, incase it was the airflow or some kind of overheating issue. This morning it seems OKAY, for now i managed to have WAR running for 15mins with no problems just going to try some other apps see what happens, cant see how it can jus fix itself over night =S

EDIT, nah still crashing wiht the same error >_<

Tried pretty much all i can think of Driver Cleaner in safe mode, loads of diffrent drivers, the latest seem the worse, errors in windows a lot more. Stuck another card in and it worked fine, so i guess it could be the card well its the only thing i think it could be :\

EDIT - Just on BFG site, not sure if i have any of the original paper work, I bought it from here, but nothing shows on my account for order histroy, but if i remember i had a problem ordering and had to do it via phone, never got any emails. Might still have the paper work somewhere in the box, one hopes!

Just wanted to add my kudos to BFG...I've never had such a speedy or trouble-free service as I did with them. They didn't faff about with endless support to-and-froing as other companies do, just simply got me to send the 8800GTX back and sent out a 260 in return. Went flawlessly even without Jeff's assistance :) Will certainly be buying all my kit from BFG in the future.

Just an update, my stickers arrived! :)

Thanks Jeff, goes to show that something so small, they'll go out of their way to help.

BFG user for life :)

If you wondered what it looks like, then here you go:

I have owned loads of BFG products, also any of my multi-gpu setups have always been BFG and have never had a failure, but it's really good to hear about other peoples experiences in the returns field and how helpful/quick these guys are!

Despite never having a failure, the extra cost of these cards has always been justified by the performance of their hardware also.

Long live bfg and there extras :)

I'm seriously contemplating the BFG PSU and flogging my RMA replacement corsair. Over £20-£30 to send it to holland to be RMA'd? No thanks. To Wales it'd be about £7.

Just received a BFG 280GTX from the MM which doesnt work :(
Tried everything, this is using a new 750w PSU with the correct 6 & 8 pin cables.
Put my 8800GT back in & all is good. I have reset the cmos, removed the MB battery, everything.

Am I able to RMA it?

Was the card registered with us? If you want, email me your information and I can look into this for you.

Does the power light come on green or red or nothing?

Sometimes there is a problem with the power cables into the card not making great contact iirc.

Not running both power cables from the same PSU rail are you?
