Hi, This will be my first build and was wondering what anyone would change about this. I am getting a 700W as I will be putting a second 4890 in at a later date. I will be following the guide on the site, so is there any tips for this?

BUT The Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB

Makes it £703(ish)

Okay, I'll change the drive, but cannot stretch the extra for a 5000 series ATI :(

Mum's paying :p

But £700 max  Stretch alittle more for the HDD

Yeah, I'm putting the F3 in. I didn't think that the Hard drive had much to do with performance.

Cooler is personal choice, play around with it and i'm sure you can make it fit in budget :)

Thanks, I have played around with it. You forgot the operating system :)

Mine is now:

I also kept the case as i like the standard useful case :)

Thanks to 'Superewza' I have a better boarda and GPU.

I'll only overclock to about 3.2Ghz, will it be OK with a stock cooler?

Optical drive i would get the one i posted, better for £2.

If you're not planning on doing crossfire then there's really nothing wrong with any of the AM3 boards. If you are then x16 x16 is the best.

The 335 is a better case and i believe it's cheaper. Will see a noticeable difference between this and NZXT Beta.

Infact best thing to do is get the coolermaster 335 instead, get this mobo, change your drive to this and then you'll be able to afford this quad core which out-performs intels Q9650. The mobo you've chosen, you don't need. Go for the cheaper one I listed.

That should put you at £720, and you now have a good quad core, a faster hard drive, and a board which is perfectly suited.

Hey Ryan

Your last spec looks good, but as Temi says that case is mATX (I should have spotted this first myself, sry) get the 335, its still a nice compact case but takes full ATX, Ive used one recently myself
The Samsung drive youve specced is fine, the new F3s use 500gig platters and thus are faster than the older (F1) models using 320/250gig platters, also samsungs ARE reliable so dont worry about that
The sony optical drive is a bit better than the samsung but not much in it, your call
Enjoy your build, it should rock

Ditch the sammy HD and get yourself a caviar black, faster and MUCH more reliable!!

Agreed, I purchased 2 Black 500's and there amazing!
I've had many a problem with Samsung drives but WD have always been quite reliable for me :)

Thanks for all of the feedback. I'm playing around with your ideas, and seeing which one's will be best to put in.

Okay, here's what have concocted with all of your feedback.

But I am pushing it, anything I could make cheaper, or should I just go with the tri-core + good cooling?
