what you do think?

Its a clio 1.8 engine with modded crank, arrow steel rods ,wossner 8.5 to 1 forged pistons, wire ringed block, big valved ported head, some piper turbo spec cams, hybrid T28 turbo, pace charger cooler, air oil cooler and lots of other bits and pieces.

output will be between 350/400bhp.
performance is yet unknown.
car is a very highly modded clio maxi replica.

makes 320bhp without cams and headwork. bb tuning sell this kit with either a 250bhp or a 320bhp map.

will post results once i,ve run it in.

i,ve ditched the spoiler see above and its on coilovers so will be going down. engine wasn,t fitted in those pics.

still at least the bs threads have stopped

Did you tune the engine yourself mate? I would focus your skills on that. Drop it into a standard looking Clio and you'll have a traffic light sleeper...

yes built it all myself. and if i wanted a sleeper i would have built a sleeper.

power output does seem a tad high. I know Craig adam's, that had a white clio that was running T/B. fully modded head, with standard bottom end, was making 216 bhp N/A. from a megane F7R-710 engine. He then sold it on to martin, so I'll take it you seen that. Most i've seen proven on turbo is 280ish bhp. not saying your will make that, you find out once it run in. also what gearbox are you using. a JC5 ?. you just be popping the diff-circlip. if your planning on using that with a JB3 box, and driving it hard.

hi mate. yes i,m running a fully new but rebuilt JB5 with lsd built by bernie at cps with some polished and shot peened gears and a few of his choice mods.
also thats a standard bottom end mine should be good for 8000rpm. plus its an estimate. the proof as always is in the pudding. will find out as you said once run in and re mapped by henk at fast chip.

JB5? It's either a JB3 (from a 1.8 16V) or a JC5 (from a 2.0 16v). The JC5 will still pop the circlip if you put too much through it, it will just take more than the JB3.

Incidentally, how much did it cost you to get the box rebuilt (excluding the LSD)?
yes sorry a JC5 that no longer has circlips as the LSD removes them. i think a rebuild is about 190 quid plus parts from bernie. he does everything from clios to skylines.

Do you have any photos of the diff retention that doesn't use the circlip?

Also you mention 'cps' as the gearbox refurbisher, who exactly are they?
i,ll look for photos. think the gripper has a bolt fixing though like the 172

hi. do i still need the hovis photos now then. i agree it doesn,t look at all the same but it is a maxi kit. i have realised the front splitter was a mistake and removed it. also removed the vent as i have fitted a carbon bonnet. i like the skirt and rear spoiler still. the shut lines have been sorted with a bit of adjustment. those photos are from its return from the body shop over two years ago.

bb tuning have run 320bhp with out cams headwork relocated filters 8000rpm rev limit. but i will be happy with what see makes. if i,m not i will upgrade to a t3 as the engines good for it. cheers for all the comments good or bad.

cheers neil

and also depends on what cams you have got you could've caused yourself more problems and make the engine worse, high lift long duration cams are bad for turbos as the valve overlap will just throw the boost out the exhaust.

if have a set of custom made high lift short duration cams.

relocated filters wont really make any difference at all to power so no point listing it

so a filter thats sat behind the radiator drawing warm air will produced the same power as one drawing cool air
