You should be ok, I think there is a 30 day period you have to renew through Enom. After the 30 day, the domain is put into redemption where it can cost several hundred dollars to renew. After that, it is deleted and made available.
 
Going to be difficult without access to the email address you originally registered with. What does your hosting company say?

You have to prove your ID to Enom... i.e. fax drivers licence/password or something...
 
You should be able to go via Enom in that case, but like I said they'll probably ask you to prove your identity. :)
