My computer is buzzing :(

I have had my system for around 8 months and everything has been good up until i moved into my new case around 6 weeks ago.

Moved into a 750D, since then, my tower is making a buzzing sound, originally i thought it was the door, so i contacted corsair who sent me a replacement, it still buzz'.

Then i thought it was the fans vibrating, i changed them and added sound proofing to stop the buzzing, it still buzz'. :(

Anything else i can try? Anyone had the same issue with a 750D?
 
Can you not track down exactly where the buzzing is coming from? Should be pretty easy to locate.

Get the case up on your desk with the side off and hunt it down!
 
That's what i have done :(

It seems smacking the side of the case makes the buzzing stop, although i can't keep doing that! :p
 
one of the side panels loose? I had an Antec 300 that produced the most annoying buzzing sound. I cured it in the end with a little strip of cardboard between the case and side panel at the rear, where the screws are.

Have checked both side panels, even with them off the buzzing still continues.

I have a feeling its my motherboard, after around 10-15 minutes it will power down, then when i start gaming or doing something intensive it kicks into life, i think that's what happening.
 
Something in there is vibrating against something else. If it's not the side panels, you need to use your fingers to put some pressure on everything in there that could be vibrating until you find the source of the problem. Then we can suggest a fix.

At a guess it will be something that moves, such as fans or hard drives. You might need some silicon washers on the drive mounts or somesuch.

I took care when putting the system together, all screws have rubber washers on them.

I can't put my hand inside when it's turned on can i?
 
why not? you're not going to electrocute yourself, just don't disconnect anything when it's running and you'll be fine.
 
Is it the PSU? Capacitors?

Use a wooden pole or dowel about 30cms, get your PC up off the ground off, sides off and running in a quiet room, stick one end of te pole on your good ear and the other on various parts of the pc and press and listen to the pc - like a car mechanic.

This will identify the buzzing bits?

Now if you have long hair, stand in a puddle of water, etc don't come running to me

Let me know if you nail the source of the buzz...................zzzzzzzzzz
 
With the PC on try briefly stopping the fans one at a time. As Steampunk said it will most likely be either a fan or HDD as the source of the noise.
 
small update, spent last night taking all the fans out, and disconnected the HDD's as they are only storage, still buzzing :/
 
Is it actual vibrations or electrical noise (coil whine or something)? I don't see how it could be vibrations if you've removed all moving parts.

You might have coil whine from something on the motherboard, but that's pretty rare nowadays. Check it's not the PSU, if necessary, take the PSU out of the case so you can put your ear against it away from the motherboard.

Coil whine is far more likely to come from a PSU or high end graphics card than a motherboard.
