My computer makes me move slower in games (literally)

So a couple of issues.

I have a Ryzen 1700 build auto OC to 4ghz using Asus auto overclocking on a Hero 6 board.

Basically I have 2 issues which are starting to get on my janglies.

First is EVERY time I turn on my computer it takes 3 attempts to boot, it turns on, then off then on then off then finally boots.

This is everytime I turn my computer on from a cold boot.

The second issue is in regards to gaming. Which for the life of me I can't understand why.

Simply put if I wake up my PC from sleep and play a game I move and play slower than everyone else.

LITERALLY slower, in Rainbow 6 siege, I physically move slower, I can't shoot people, I cant shoot destroyable gadgets.

In Killing Floor 2 I can kill things normally but again even when sprinting I move about half the speed as anyone else.

When I restart my computer everything works normally and I move at the same speed as everyone else.

I cannot however for the life of me work out whats causing it, there is no reason and it has only been doing this since I upgraded.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

EDIT:

Another a problem which I have found related is my computer clock.

It continuously drops out of sync and starts slowing down getting minutes behind, but again on a fresh restart it stays up to date and working, it's only when waking up from sleep does this start happening.

Or memory. 3 attempts to boot can be memory on Asus boards (maybe others). Slow down/latency. When you restart, it succeeds in training, so therefore I think memory issue.

Auto-overclocking is rarely a good idea. Set everything back to stock, make sure RAM is on default speed (motherboard's not the RAM's) too.

Have you updated the Bios? v1401 is the latest and best on C6H. Guarantees most ram runs at overclocked frequencies.

Avoid auto overclocks use the bios, auto will probably use excessive voltage.

Ill try setting ram to default next cold boot, either way I can't go above 2400 without getting the 0d error and completely breaking the mobo. Have to disconnect everything remove the mobo battery multiple times, reset the CMOS multiple times just to get it to reboot, takes well over an hour when this happens.

Honestly I'm scared to try and OC my memory, it's rated at 3200 but anything over 2400 and I get the 0d error which doesn't even show in the CH6 manual, completely destroys my computer for over an hour before I can use it again like I mentioned above.

Mind you I use the auto stuff because I don't understand all this OC stuff so many options lol.

If you are on Crosshair 6 hero, you need to get procODT setting nailed for RAM. Its in the BIOS, zen common options, in one of those sub menus. I have mine set to 96ohms and my RAM is running perfectly. In fact it even 200Mhz above rated speeds!

also 4 Ghz may not be stable either, especially with auto overclock!

Mine will not be stable at 4Ghz, 3.975 no problem. But not 4.0 :(

Well! I have a similar setup and my 1700 at 3.9 without me knowing was going back to default! Scratching my head, confused as this happened a few times from cold boot. Today I re-flashed and it seems all ok!
The booting up, you can hear the attempts when a bios is not setup properly, as in your case, and yes it could be the speed your attempting i.e memory or cpu.

Damn you! Got me going now! Checking my speed again! :D:confused::cool: :p

Wish it was but default memory same problem.

I don't get how it could be unstable as it works and no crashing.

I set my memory to default settings and the same problems still occur. Which is strange.

Well just got back from work so time to reboot to fix the issue for the night.

That sounds like quite a serious issue either with the CPU and/or the motherboard. The issue you're getting is to do with a fundamental part of how computers work called a clock, not the clock in your taskbar but an internal clock that decides the tick rate or how much time needs to pass between 'frames' which basically just tell the computer how fast or slow something should happen. In your case it indicates a low level hardware issue or a pretty severe software bug.

You could try disabling "AMD Cool 'n Quiet" if that setting is available to you as that was causing me all sorts of weird headaches that disappeared when I disabled it
