I thought I'm best off starting my own thread rather than jumping in on others misfortune. I have just bought myself two 1900 cards and a board. I've got a Sapphire XT master, a MSI XTX slave and the new Asus A8R32-MVP (R580) motherboard.

Both cards work on their own, and both slots work on the motherboard. The 6.2 cats are installed and it recognises a crossfire setup. But when I run benchies (05) it would appear that only one card is working. Admittedly my test setup is only using a Venice 3000 on stock air, but even so, I'd expect better results. So what's happening here?

A single card in 05 at stock gets me the same score as two cards in crossfire mode so something aint working?

i had this problem as well, because i downloaded the latests drivers from ati, if ya remove them and use the drivers that come with your MASTER card it should be fine, i was scratching my head for ages but tried that and works fine now, something to do with the drivers from ati arnt setup properly for x1900 crossfire setup

Mine works with the cat 6.2's you have to enable crossfire mode in the drivers...

getting over 9200 on 3dmark06 so I kniow the twin 1900's are working

:D

Hi phil

Left a message for you after your post in my thread here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17545294&page=1&pp=30 :)

In case you missed it, I was just asking what core and mem frequencies CCC was reporting to you.

Not sure if this will help you at all since we have different cpus, but maybe there'll be some correlation between the score with only one card and the score for crossfire:
With my XTX card in on its own (vsync on), 3dmark05 on 6.2 cat score = 11304
With master and xtx (vysnc on), score = 11700
With master and xtx (vysnc OFF), score = 13720

I would have expected better! I'm not convinced something isn't wrong but it's early days for this motherboard.

Also, when I look at system info (from 3dmark) there is a section that lists the six slots on the motherboard. Slots 1 and 2 appear to be the PCIE slots as it says PCIE_x16_1 and PCIE_x16_2. However, my PCIE_x16_1 slot is shown as empty and my PCIE_x16_2 slot says Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller!!
One X1900 controller is shown as being on the PCIE_x1_1 slot, and the other one isn't anywhere to be seen! lol Not sure if this is normal but I'm guessing it aint :(

Hey mate I think it was reporting 500/600 or thereabouts but it only showed 1 card whereas I expected to see 2. I managed to get a little further last night, I finally got ATI tool to report the speeds correctly and could overclock the cards, but it didnt make a jot of difference to 05 - so I'm hoping this was down to the cpu. I'll report back with my findings.

what were you scoring? A venice 3000 and 2xX1900 is a massively mismatched system.....

:D I know, it was the only cpu I had to hand and I thought what the hell..
I was hitting 8200 in 05 with everything maxed, ie AF x 16, AA x 6 etc etc.
