My Datsun

Guy around the corner from me had one, and it wasn't that bright, it was much darker.

Must be like this one then and usually see one driving around here

Midnight Purple is the best colour (sod Bayside Blue) but it'd look best on an R32 or R34. R33 is too soft and round looking for my tastes.

R33's do indeed look fantastic in Midnight Purple! If i was to get a R32 i'd want either a white example or gun metal grey. Although im quite partial to the blue you get on the limited edition Le Mans spec for the R33.

a week in and this thing drinks petrol!

I suppose the 70 miles a day I do factors into that - when I had my RX7 I was getting 15mpg but only doing 10 miles a day. this is pretty much the same !

anyway, wow! it shifts, it turns head (especially when I stall it ;) ) and i love it to bits. I think i've reached my peak of affordable performance cars now so hopefully when i start my new job in a few weeks and i'm back on the bike i can give the GTR some rest and the TLC it deserves :)

I have noticed that when I boot it the torque split gauge only gets to about "10" so does that mean only 10% of the torque is going frontwards or is it some measurement of lb/ft ?

Pretty sure the R32 can only ever send 50% of torque to the front wheels, what are the labels on the gauge?

My understanding is that it prefers to remain RWD where possible, and only diverts power to the front in order to avoid wheelspin. Even in corners it's designed to oversteer a little wheras most 4WDs understeer.

(My Cefiro has the same 4WD, but doesn't have that gauge :( )

off top of my head theres 0, 10 and 50.

cant say it feels any different really when the gauge is registering - but i'm rarely looking at it just staring at road trying to hold on tight!!

In that case it's probably a percentage.

RWD is better for booting it off the line as all the weight shifts to the back of the car anyway, 10% going to the front should be enough to prevent wheelspin and keep it in a straight line.

ATESSA really is set up for hooligans. It's great.

coo-eell!

just seen what I guess must be your car on skyline owners? Looks like a nice low mileage cefiro :) what made you go for that out of interest? they must be uber rare over here?

Nice car.

Get yourself over to http://www.gtr.co.uk/index.html, wealth of knowledge there and hepful.

There are variations in the ATTESA-ETS, not sure what version you have but somebody will sort you out. As above, it's a %.

I had a thread on here where half the forum slagged me off for spending 4 grand on that car, so probably best not to drag it up again and derail your thread.

In short:
I'm using it for work, boss wont let me have a car that looks (in his opinion) boy racerish or chavvy. If I do he'll withdraw my car allowance.
Insurance for me on a 1993 R32 GTS4 (same engine and drivetrain) £1200, on my Cefiro, £400, for a saving of £800 per year over the Skyline.
Too many boy racers wanting to have a go around here, too many car theives in some of the places I need to park up when doing overnight jobs (ie. I have a particularly busy customer in Bradford)
I like unusual and rare cars, but the Cefiro shares all it's parts with either the 200SX or Skyline so parts availability isn't so bad.

And yes it's rare, as far as I can tell it's the only 4WD one in the country. No-one else has owned up to owning one, and that dude in New Zealand reckons there's only 5 of them in that country, and NZ is full of Jap imports.

Finally got mine aligned properly too, so been having fun chucking it around the local B roads. The 4WD really does give you confidence to throw it around corners doesn't it?

Absolutly Epic cars!

Cut the front bumper and get a huge FMIC sticking out!

Looks mean!

Damn you ramirez you've started my GTR cravings again, I feel for you though with the MPG my ZX is currently averging 17mpg now I'm travelling further for work.

Hows the back seats in these, mine are less than useless, can only really get one in the back as I have the drivers seat fully back and it leaves about 5mm between the rear bench.
