wont expand to fill my 55'' 1080p tv on Win 7..... it's about an inch in from the border all the way around, but it used to on Win Xp.... this is the same when gaming too, please see my sig for my spec

please help, thanks

what aspect ratio have you got your TV on ?

Usually they have a 1:1 pixel mapping aspect ratio that doesnt stretch or distort the output. On samsungs its called "just scan"

Then make sure your graphics output is set to 1920 x 1080

Use your gfx card driver to trim the boarder there is a setting to adjust this.
I'm not a fan of this. You are still losing the pixels which are overscanned, all it's doing is shrinking the visible image, not the actual image plane. This isn't the same as 1:1 mapping.

Look in the TV settings for a "Just Scan" option as MrLOL explained. The setting you're looking for may be in the same list as "16:9".

Probably overscan related. Either tweak the TV settings (if available) or failing that the graphics card settings to resolve.

ok i'll have a look at the cards settings........because in Win 7 it just sais 1080p, you cant adjust it any higher to fill the screen, but you could in Win XP/ NVIDIA on my old 8800 GT, I think it was adjusted via NVIDIA last time.

You want to set that to 0% before you try anything else :)

+1 for setting the overscan to 0% in the Catalyst control centre first.

As for the TV, may I ask what make and model number it is? As the guys above have said - you want it to set it to the 1:1 pixel mapping mode - but different brands call this different things, I think LG calls it "Just Scan", Samsung now calls it "screen fit" and other call it "PC mode" or "dot by dot".
