My Dial Up Connection Have Disappeared. Please HELP!

My broadband connection suddenly stopped working. After a lot of messing about I discovered that my dial up options from Network Connections had disappeared.

If I try to create a new connection the option for dial up is greyed out.

If I try to reinstall my broadband files it freezes at the point where it is trying to load a file called createdun, this I assume is looking for dial up networking and can't find it.

Any help you can give me would be much appreciated

Thanks

Google suggests it's something to do with a BT Voyager USB modem.
Presumably by "broadband files", you mean the disk you got with the modem?

Tried spyware/virus scans?

Hi Tolien

Thanks for the reply. I am 99.99% sure that my PC is Spy, Ad and Virus free, and I also know that it can't be the modem or the BT software because I am using them on my backup laptop.

It must be an XP sp2 problem or a hardware problem of some description but before I reformat I wanted to be sure.

Thanks again

That doesn't mean squat. It's perfectly capable of breaking.
Try reinstalling it for starters, or is it the "broadband files" you were on about?

I would suggest reinstalling, but USB modems are verging on a waste of time
