My Diary : The tale of the unexplained lump.

The best thing you did was to get in touch with someone as soon as you noticed it. Try not to read too much in to it (although that might be too late) as a negative outlook won't help things - easier said than done I know.

Keep us updated.

Here's hoping for a good outcome

about 4 years ago I was in a similar position and lymphoma was a possibility, the eventual cause was actually sarcoidosis

One of my best friends has beat hodgekins lymphoma, have every confidence in yourself that you can too.
Your family and friends will be everything too you over the next year or so, use them, they will be there for you to share the tears, along with the laughs. You may think you are going to be on a massive down all the time, but the power of the human body and mind is amazing, keep your chin up and live every second.

I had a similar scare a couple of months back. I found a lump that grew quite quickly and although it was painless I was getting radiating pain around the area and into a (new) lump under my arm. The docs said it was rare in my age-group but it could well be cancer

I had to have biopsies, scans and blood tests and then wait two weeks for the results. Not an easy time, I know. I was OK as it turned out, it was just a fatty lump and an over active gland. They said to just leave it. I'm sure you'll be fine mate, keep your chin up and crack on! :)

I had it in my neck and it was a pain (in the neck :P ) but if you're going to have cancer then I've been told it's the one to have. Good luck!

Wow sad to hear all of this :(. I had Hodgekins Lymphoma myself about 2 years ago now and it IS cureable as I can show for myself :D. From the information I was given, Non-Hodgekins can't be cured and is just in a state of regression until it decides to come back. If its Hodgekins the cure rate is good and can be cleared for good with their normal treatments (ABVD is what I had). The good news is that younger people seem to recover from the illness easier than if you get it when your older.

I found it best to read up as much as possible and keep myself informed on everything they were telling me. Just make sure you talk to people and ask ANYTHING which comes into your head, not matter how silly it may seem. Nothing worse than sitting there with questions rolling around your head.

Good luck with all of this mate. Best thing you have done is get it seen to early as the sooner anything gets started the better.

If there is anything you want to know from what I went through just ask.

UPDATE:

Just had a call from the hospital, I have a haematology appointment in the 10th of November at 11 a.m. However, I just phoned the G.P`s secretary to ask about the results of my blood and chest ex-ray and they came back with no further action (which i think is clear) So now im confused as hell...

results that tell me nothing, still have lumps, still have night swets (although my body gave me abit of a break last and decided to only partially drown me.) cant speak directly to my G.P. as she is on holiday. so I just dont know what the hell to do or think now,
:(:(:(

Could it not jsut be that the GP have to perform no further action ? If you already have an appointment with a Haematology nurse/doctor, theres nothing more for the GP to do really. For me the last thing the GP did was get me my chest x-ray appointment. After that it was all dealt with by people at the hospital.
