My discounts break Virgin Media's computer system!

Is there no one here that works for VM?
If there was maybe we could multi buy something like 20Mb/XL TV/XL Phone for £40
just a thought..

I didn't have much luck getting Sky to drop their prices last week. Coming to the end of a 12 month contract, I told them that as I'm soon moving out of my current shared place and into a flat on my own, I'd be liable for all the bills so could only keep Sky if they could reduce the price, but they weren't interested at all. All they suggested was to downgrade me to the free broadband (2Mbps, 40GB limit) to save £5, but I wasn't keen on that idea.

Shame really as I'd like to have kept it if possible, especially as I've got a Sky+ box.

I wish they would just have one price for everything rather than people getting discounts here and there. Makes it more expensive for the rest of us I expect.

Hmm difficult one. I kept mine and got offered the 50% off any package for 6 months (12 month contract but I'll just downgrade mid-contract like I did last time to keep the costs down).

Priced everything up today:

New VM contact: M Phone + L Broadband + XL TV + V+ + Sky Sports/Movies = about £85/month (including up-front costs).

Restart with Sky: BT Phone + Be Broadband (8MB, no caps whatsoever) + Sky+ + top (non-HD) Sky = about £70/month (less if I downgrade Sky mid-contract).

I think I might just accept going back. I'd always planned to get a package restarted in time for the Ashes.

Virgin rock for discounts.

We're VIP customers as we've been with them/telewest for over 10 years and for the past 2 years we haven't paid our telly as we had 4 new boxes and kept getting credited.

Still got about £60 credit on there, might have to phone up and moan :D Get some more.

Im paying around £60 a month for XL TV/BB and the standard phone (M?). I want 50Mb Cable but im paying enough as it is :(

Just a quick update.i have around 50 ocuk sky emails now.ive moved house so have no net.on phone at mo.taking longer but i will get back to you all

I may well be an addition to that list. VM are wanting to charge us to a total of £29 for 10mb bb when of course the site has it at £14. We do get other discounts but it juut doesn't add up.

So, looking at a complete sky package and if we decide to go for it, I'll be grateful for any additional benefit. Out of curiosity, do they run a "Refer a friend" scheme as I have colleagues on Sky?

I am in a very similar situation to the OP.

I have:

20Mb Broadband (50 not available here)
XL Television Package with 1x V+ box and 2x Standard samsung Boxes
Talk Unlimited telephone package

I pay £42.50 per month for the privelege, the best part is that when i talk to the virgin people they are amazed that we have such a good deal.

And as we moved house 6 weeks ago we took our package with us and managed to scoop another 18 month contract out of them at the same price.:p
