After a 14 year old boy is arrested for the murder of an 11 year old, I find this on the bbc website.

Shocked doesn't cover it.

I despair for mankind.

This is no more worst than the James Bulger case 10 years ago, but it doesn't make this any better or easier to swallow.

I was living in Liverpool at the time if the Jamie Bulger case, the whole city had a horrible weird feeling.

I'm not sure if it's happening more or if it's just getting reported more. I think I'm going to stop reading the news. :(

Doesnt shock me in the slightest anymore. Its terrible yes, but it doesnt shock me. Just another horrendous incident. There will be another in a few days.

The main thing that gets to me is the waste of life but I feel that whether someone's been murdered or if they've died of cancer, such as Linda Smith last week.
But it doesn't chip away at my faith in humanity, I just have to remind myself that there are many good people out there, it's just it doesn't make a good story for the papers so they go unreported often.

It does sometimes

This was heartwarming in an age where murder and rape are common place

clicky

(The fact that he knows hes autistic means he isn't autistic, aspergers maybe)

That happened around the corner from me, it's quite shocking to find out about it and it being so close to home :(

The other night I heard a kid was stabbed outside my old school. And this is supposed to be one of the 'nicest' areas in the country.

Thats why i stopped reading or listening to the news, too mcuh grief and bad news all round for my liking although now and again you get the odd good feeling story come up.

But yes this is pretty shocking, my mum was talking about it the other day and saying to me WTF is up with this world these days??, everyone just wants to be selfish and hurt each other:(.

I read about this yesterday, I can't even think of words to describe it. What is it with the U.K and child killing? America has it's serial killers, we have child killers.

Humans are naturally selfish, they will indulge in whatever pleasure they can find. Sometimes that pleasure is harmless, other times it comes at the expense of others. Everyone's guilty of that to some extent. There's no shortage of people on these forums who enjoy taunting people who post old topics or will happily resort to personal attacks to win a debate.

It's rare that someone will truly put themselves out to help someone else.

The only thing that would shock me is if people stopped killing and hurting each other.
