I hope me posting this is ok with the mods..
I started dabbling with Android dev last year after I saw a couple of apps on iPhone that I thought I could make for my HTC. Ok there are already quite a few out there that do pretty much the same thing but it was something I just had to have a go at myself, and therefore I could make it look exactly how I wanted.

So after several months of building, tweaking, leaving it alone, tweaking some more (and several thousand miles of testing) I finally go to a point where I thought it stable enough to give to other people.

Here's the app in a car (admittedly not a great picture):

What it does:
  • HUD or normal view
  • Current speed (MPH/KMH/Knots)
  • Trip distance
  • Maximum speed this trip
  • Average speed this trip
  • Odometer (since install/clearing data)
  • 12 or 24h clock
  • Compass
  • Battery meter
  • Satellite lock indicator
  • 10 different display colours
  • Adjustable brightness
  • Adjustable warning speed (colour change when above)

What it DOESN'T do:
It doesn't have permission to access the Internet and only stores preferences and some speed/distance values on the device. These values are ONLY accessible by the application itself. There are no adds or nag screens.

As I said it's free and is my first attempt. I'm not looking to make anything out of this app other than being able to say I made something lots of other people find useful or fun.

If you want to try it you can only get it from Google Play, and please leave me some feedback, good or bad, so I can improve it :) I only have access to a very limited number of actual devices so I don't know how it performs on things like the GS2/3, although more GS2s have installed it than any other device.

Thanks, James.
