Well I have been meaning to do this for a while now, but now I have placed myself in a position were I have no choice. I have been saving up, and sold off my old system for a pretty good price. I want to build a system around conroe, as I would guess they would be best vlaue for money at the moment. I have saved up about 700 quid, though I would prefer to spend more around 650 quid. I already have a decent monitor and optical drives.

CPU: Either the E6600 £252.57, or if I really have to the E6400 £182.07.

Mobo: I'm really confused at what mobos support conroe, and what would be right for me. Right now I'm looking at the ASUS P5B £129.19.

GPU: X1800XT £160.92 I want something that can play most games at mid-high setting until some decent Dx10 cards come out.

RAM: Not really sure what is the best value for money. G.skill looks interesting.

Case: Either the Lian-Li PC-7Plus, Lian-Li 60Plus, or the Eclipse 62 (does it come with stock fans)

PSU: Really have no idea at all

CPU cooling: Zalman CNPS9500-AT £34.02 Looks good, is it?

I want to get a CPU that will last me awhile, as I don't see myself replacing any major parts, other than the GPU, anything less than every 1-3 years. I also want to give some light overclocking shot, so cooling and mobo would be an issue, I would guess.

Thanks for taking an interest.

Don't you need a hard drive or have you got that?

Wow, that was quick. Yeah, I have a Hard Drive that I am planning to use. Is the cooling and stock PSU of the Antec Sonata II good enough for what I need?
