My first build in 10 years need some help.

Sooo whens the 760ti due.
Uhh might just wait, but its always a waiting game. Very tempting.

just noticed the 3570k is now £150. going to buy that now. and the case seeing as i am going with that.
That list is very helpful, thanks for that.

No problem, the 760ti should be out within the next month

I am still unsure whether or not I will over-clock it. How hard is it for someone that has never ventured into that department, I want the option to down the road though thats why I picked the 3750k.. So many decisions.

Overclocking a graphics card is as easy as dragging some sliders in some software and dragging them down a bit if it isn't stable :)

On that particular card, perhaps 20 to 25% if you do a good job (just an estimate) :)
It is already considerably quicker than a standard 7870 before you overclock it at all as it uses the same core as the next card up (the HD7950) rather than the standard 7870 core.

It looks like a solid card, personally I would want the 660ti because of geforce experience, Nvidia 3D and a bit more reliability/less compatibility issues (there's only a few known ones and they're not specific to and model of card, they're just a bit random). But for the money, the 7870 is a better card soooo maybe you should consider it over a 660ti, unless you really want one :)

@Acme15 As for the 7950 core... Ehhhh I'm not so sure about that: the 7950 has 1792 cores and that VTX3D 7870 has 1536 soooo yeeaaaahhh

Sorry I meant that it uses the same core design. (Tahiti LE)
Compare the spec against a normal 7870 :)
