Hi guys

I am about to start ordering the hardware for my first ever PC build. Now I am not a complete amateur, in tha past I have tinkered with my pre-built systems:rolleyes: but thought it was time to take the leap and build my own rig.
Here is a list of components I intend to use.

I5 2500K
ASUS P8P67 deluxe
asus GTX 560 ti cu ii
Ripjaws x 8GB RAM
1TB Samsung SpinPoint F3 HD103SJ Hdd
SSD 64GB Unsure which model yet
Samsung sh-b123l Disc Drive
PSU COOLER MASTER SILENT PRO GOLD 800W
NZXT Phantom Case

It may be a bit OTT for my first build but hey I like the deep end:D.
If any one has any recommendations, alternatives or advice it would be much apreciated
I know the PSU is high but I want to upgrade the GPU in the future and also add watercooling kit and so on and so on

Are you planning on going sli in future? otherwise a 650w psu will handle any single GPU around. Also is there a reason why you particularly want the Deluxe version of that mobo? The pro version is a fair bit cheaper and has most of its features.

Sorry i am getting the pro there isn't really any difference between the two other than the price...And yes going sli in the future.I might run my WC kit from a separate PS as i am going to have the pump rad etc external. So would the 800W be OK ?

If your buying here, this is the sort of price your looking at:

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor with FREE Operation Flashpoint Red River Game £161.99

Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION ** £159.98

Coolermaster Silent Pro Gold 800W Power Supply £110.99

NZXT Phantom Enthusiast Full Tower Case - Black £109.99

Crucial RealSSD M4 64GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive **INTRODUCTORY ONLY PRICE** £89.99

G.Skill RipJawsX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL ) £71.99

Samsung SH-B123L/BSBP 12x BluRay ROM DVDRW DL & RAM Lightscribe SATAII Optical Drive - OEM Black £59.99

Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ) £46.99

Total : £826.91 (includes shipping : £12.50).

And then add on the cost of the graphics card as you can't get that particular model here.

Although, I don't particularly think you'd need 8GB, games only really make use of 4GB.

Edit: Don't know where I got the gaming point in my head from

As I've mentioned it now, what will the main use of the PC be?

Right I've done a few omline psu calcs and they're varried from 500w to 600w. My worry now is if I get 800 when I add 2 gpu's cold cathodes and extra fans will it be enough but if I get a 1000w psu I'm gona be wasting 400w of power for 6 to 12 months

Is there not much benefit having 8gb ram over 4?
.

I'll be using it for gaming. I'm a console guy but really getting into pc gaming. The missus will be web surfing and playing games on facebook. (If I let her). I basically want it to be a good foundation for future upgrades. Hopefully I can start ordering it all on monday. Then once its built I can look at modding the case, wc and oc

This is very similar to the build which I've just ordered (also a first time builder)
