Hey , picked this up yesterday.

cargs6.jpg

Its a Toyota Celicia 1.8 ST

MOT June 2009
90,000 with Full Service History
4 Owners
18" Team Dynamics Alloys
Clear lense Kit
Full Electrics
Remote Central Locking

I haven't yet passed my test but liked the look of it so brought it now.

Its in near perfect condition although theirs some rust at the bottom of the passengers door which i've been quoted £80 to sort out.

Looks really nice but HOLY JEBUS how much for the insurance? That's a hell of a lot for an ickle 1.8 engine :(. Being old I don't know how badly they fleece 'yutes' these days.

£2k to insure an old Celica? Rather you than me. Very shiney but that fails the insurance cost:car ratio for me :p

I can see where your coming from but i was also quoted £1400 for a Peugeot 306 1.4 Miami. The insurance admittedly does cost more then the car :p however insurance cost : Weekly wage ratio is good so its really not a issue. i just wanted a good looking car with abit of performance ( 0-60 = 10secs ) and something different from the usual first cars. I can also use it to get some experience before i start to spend some real money on a car.

I wish i could afford that! 2k is sort of what im looking at to buy and insure a car when i get round to affording a first car! My mums 49bhp ford ka will suffice for the time being :p

Very nice first car mate, and who knows you might be able to find some cheaper cover by the time you pass.

Insurance quotes are mental at that age :(

Even if you bought a less sporty car the insurance is still well over a grand, so 2k isn't as bad as it sounds.

How much did you pay for it btw?
