No you need the code on the chip which by the sounds of it you wont have noted it
down.
Did you buy it new or second hand?
I think you should aim for 2.8 to start with and then work up slowly. Most opterons can boot a 3Ghz but arent stable
Dont use more than 1.6v on air cooling
down.
