Well it finally happened. Had my first solo gig on Friday. :D

It went OK.. I've played gigs before in various bands, but this is my first one I've done by myself. And as such I was quite nervous. I think that was the main reason for a lot of the inaccuracies in my playing. But that said, I was happy with how I played and performed and really enjoyed it. :D

For now I only have one video, and it's of me performing Tommy Emmanuel's arrangement of Classical Gas.

And for the record, I can play this better in the privacy of my own home. The nerves made me fudge up a little. Still pleased with it though. :D

Maybe but I'd rather watch an imperfect performance of someone who plays with feeling that a stale carbon copy.

Excellent

Awesome man! Really good performance, the fluffs weren't noticeable to anyone other than another guitarist imo. I assume you're a fan of Rodrigo y Gabriela and Trace Bundy? If not check them out on YouTube!

Thanks. :D :D :D

Not a huge fan of Trace, but no denying his talent. Rodrigo y Gabriela are awesome though.

that was awesome, you were a little nervous at the start but I can see you really got into it hehe

your tone is fantastic, especially considering it was recorded on a camera

As has been said the nervousness errors are probably only noticeable to us guitarists. I don't really like this sort of stuff to be honest but I can appreciate it, I thought it was a great performance :)

The last time you posted a vid you were 15 and playing bass on a Cream track if I remember right.
I reckon you're still around 16 and playing to that level, hopefully you will earn yourself a future in music.
Obviously I knew every wrong note and timing error but 99% of your audience wouldn't have a clue and it was still excellent especially for your age and length of time you've been playing.
Keep up the hard work and I'm really jealous of you because after 38 years of playing I couldn't get within 100 miles of that.
My only criticism is that you knicked all Tommy's ideas and little tricks. It would have been nice to have seen you listen to the original, other versions and then come up with a piece.

:D :D

Sorry I haven't thanked you all for your kind comments, but I've just got back from Glastonbury. Well I got back at 9 o'clock but have slept for a few hours. :p

Thank you all. :D
