my first intel, this temp correct ?

It's idling at 50 degrees? Are you on the stock cooler?

Max temp would be 75deg, so 50 @ idle is a bit high, max volts according to intel are 1.5v

That's sounds way too hot. I recently sold my OCZ Vendetta, so using a stock (non-copper) Intel HSF until I replace it with better air or water. I'm currently idling at 44/43/38/42 with a 3200Mhz clock. I would reseat your HSF, use good TIM (I'm using OCZ Freeze), and check temps again.

room temp is 19, reading from asrock software in windows. am using stock hsf till i get a new bracket for my wc block.

Try using other ways to measure, since the ASRock software probably isn't reliable.

max "sensible" volts is somewhere around 1.55v although you will probably top out temps (75c prime small ffts load) before you need that much..
