Lovely Wolver-ampton!
P35 DS3R w/ F6 BIOS
2160 C2C at 2959.9Ghz
2Gb Geil RAM
Intel Stock Cooling
x1950 Pro
Maxtor 250Gb SATA
Maxtor 250Gb EIDE
WD Caviar SE in external caddy using USB
Samsung ODD flashed with latest firmware.
Antek NSK case / PSU
Samsung 20" Pebble LCD

Temps are 29c Idle and 59c running Orthos CPU/MEM overnight.

Temps were pushing 65 initially but I guess the thermal compound has reach peak thermal viscosity and settled in now.

What a great little chip eh?

Everest says I'm on a 64% chip overclock and 85% FSB. I'm assuming I could push the chip a bit more but I think with stock cooling the temps would be getting on the high side. Will upgrade the stock cooling and see if I can break the magic 3Ghz. Probs just hit 3 and leave it there with new cooling. Should be OK.

Well done m8 nice clocks,as you say once the AS embeds the temps should decrease. An artic pro 7 cooler as a suggestion with your c2c will bring those temps down considerably in relation to the intel stock fan. Allowing possibly more overclocking headroom.

Have just gone up a few more Mhz. CPU-id says 2976Mhz :) (Mind you, Vista says it's 3.35Ghz though, but that's dubiously over-exaggerating I think.

Running Orthos now (while I type) and I'm gonna have a quick shower. Will see what half hour of CPU/MEM stressing will do. Fan has kicked up to 1300RPM and temps are still just hitting mid 50's.

Arctic Cooler 7 was what I was actually looking at. Seems silly to buy anything else when it's so cheap and does exactly what it's meant to.

re: The Vista speed claim. Orthos says it's 3347MHz......

Which is more likely right? Orthos, Vista or Everest? I'm thinking Everest.... But still, nice brag to say nearly 3.4Ghz from a 1.6 chip! hehehe

CPUZ would be a definite confirmation of your overclock and is considered validation of an overclock

although 3.347 is nice from a 1.6 chip
