Hi, with all the help of OCUK community i finally did my first overclock this morning. Im just a bit confused about tempretures. Am i supposed to be looking at Core0 and Core1? What is the best program for temps?

With my e2180 i overclocked it to 2.4GHz and got this reading:

Is that looking okay?

Thanks again, Ben.

Im weary.. im only on the stock heatsink.

Also these temps are just me sitting on my desktop - no programs.

What voltage is set in the bios? 1.28V is low so if it isnt stable when you test try 1.35V :)

Your doing it so wrong, only joking. My brother just says to me that if the overclock does what he wants to with no problems then he considers it stable, sometimes I agree with that if a processor won't deliver the goods.

Ive set everything as guided, just i was looking through the settings to find
"Performance Enhance" was set to turbo?

The three options i could have chose were
-Standard
-Turbo
-Extreme

It guided me to set it to standard as this will improve stability after overclocking? So i did so. What are you thoughts on this?

Also, tonight i will be performing the Orthos stress test on my e2180 at 2.4GHz overnight tonight.

You should be able to get it to 3Ghz pretty easily on the stock cooler (unless you've got a case with pretty much no ventilation lol), and without having to increase the vcore. Not sure what those performance setting are. What mobo are you using?

Gigabyte DS3R

Well with those boards they're stable if you're at a 50% overclock or more, so you don't really have to keep it on standard unless it's showing signs of instability. I suppose it depends how much performance you want, but I can't see it crashin really if you've only got it at 2.4Ghz. You might wanna start thinkin about changin it to a more stable mode when you start to reach 3Ghz (if you do go that far).

I just want a speed to where i can get it to with stock heatsink without worrying about checking the temps everyday. So il stick with 2.4GHz until i get a good cooler.
This sensible?
