My first SLR camera

Some of you may remember me asking about what camera to get, I went with the Canon 500D I got from best b** in the uk for £570 plus get £30 cash back when i send them the magic bit of paper.. It came with a tripod, spare battery, uv filter, case, kit lens, 8gb sd card and a cleaning kit.

I wanted to ask do you know what is the biggest SD card that will fit in the Canon 500D?

I think this is an amazing camera! I will make raw hd video from it if anybody wants and will put up for download so you can see what it is like... as youtube don't do it justice.

I don't think there's a limit on the size of the card you can use.

Generally though its better to have more, smaller cards 8GB or less that are fast but not the fastest (no need with a 500D) than really large capacity cards (for photos at least) in case you have a duff card - then you will lose less shots.
 
lol :D there will be lol I been told some of the pictures i have taken looks good and professional though by a few people whos good at it xD (prob just being nice lol) and thanks for the advice I will grab another 8gb one but my last question is what is with the class 4, 6 and class 10 SDHC cards?
 
Thanks AtticusFinch will they work ok with HD video as well? (class 6)

Thanks Steve, what is the D80 like? My mum and dad have the D50 and its a brilliant camera.. even now that it's old... why I wasn't sure if to stick with Nikon and get the d5000 but I'm glad i went with the canon it truly is such a great camera.

lol I like the canon software it puts the all the photos in the folders by date, then I put copy's onto my nas and dedicated server for backups.. do you know of any sites like flickr but that's free?
