hey guys, so built my pc and started ocing the 2600k ... i tried setting the volts manually but whatever i set it too my pc would blue screen.. so i left it on the auto thing, all ive done is raise the turbo multi to 45 on each core, and then did intel stress test for like 5 mins and it got to these temps... how are they?

spec: haf x
h50 with 2 akasa vipers
2600k @ 4.5
8gb corsair vengeance ram

thanks

oops was meant to be in overclocking section! my bad

Looks hot mine is running at 63c max with 100% full load with 1.31v in bios and about 1.33v in CPUz. Also your BCLK seems to be overclocked to 103 which is not advised at the moment.

He has a H50, try removing it and reapplying thermal paste.

For reference I have a H50 standard single fan, 2500K at 1.3v at 100% load I get temps around 60c

At what clock? BTW, he has a 2600K so more threads = greater heat.

running asus p8p67 pro!

how can i get it too 100% load when im using the max stress setting available? :D

reduced it to 100, temps are now at mid 60's sorry im a bit of a noob but how long do i run the intel burn for? btw idle temps is 29 degrees

argh ive been reading other people with the same setup getting much lower temps then me... could it be a setting ive done? i havent got any thermal paste to reapply it so thats a nono

Dont forget that Intel Burn Test is far more severe that even prime. You would expect hight temps using that.

What are you at idle in windows and in the Bios.

idle at the moment in windows using the asus sensor its showing as 24 degrees
in coretest its showing as 32-34 degrees and in open hardware monitor its showing 34-38 degrees... (fluctuating) bio its at 30 degrees

Before i comment.... which Bios version and Board are you using?
If its a P8P67 i seem to recall that the 405 (supplied) bios showed very low cpu temps for me with the H50 i.e. 15c

With 1003 or 1053 bios this is now 21c idle

At idle i.e. 20-30c you would not feel any heat as its below body temp

ive got a new h50 coming this afternoon and two apache fans, will see how my i2500k and asus P8P67 compare temp wise

alright so now ive updated to 1053 BIOS version, set vcore to 1.295 and multi to 42.... and now im getting 40 degrees at idle? so i have no clue whats going on now

That tells me that your cooling is not working properly.

Things to check.
1. Where have you plugged the H50 power lead. If it's in either the CPU or chassis fan headers on the motherboard then they don't get full power by default. I recommend either running direct from the PSU via a molex to 3 pin converter or use the Fan Header just above the Ram on the P8P67 boards as that has full power all the time.

2. Is the fan connected to your radiator and is it spinning? I pug this into the CPU fan header on the motherboard.

3. If all the above are ok... then you can't have good contact on the CPU. Take it off and look to see if the Thermal Paste has spread out on the CPU. If not check your fitting and ensure the screws are tightened gradually and fairly tightly (not too far so you damage the motherboard)

Additional.... I note you have two Rad Fans.... check they are forcing air flow through the rad and not opposing each other.

yeh both fans are spinning at 100% on the radiator! ive plugged the h50 in directly to the psu through a 3 pin converter! so my guess is that its number 3! if i take the h50 off will i be able to put it back on without new paste? since i havent got any here and really need it ;(

thanks for the help by the way its much appreciated
