I have a spare 80GB SATA, and as I am upgrading to C2D next week, I plan to use it as my OS drive, and leave my 2 IDE's as is, so I don't lose any files, etc.

Now I've never used a SATA drive before, will I be able to install XP onto it without any issues?

I will plug it in to my current machine and format, but I plug it in to the new motherboard, will it be detected fine and allow for XP to be installed without the need for drivers and such?

Motherboard will be a MSI Neo2-FR

Cheers

Depends whether your mobo can emulate IDE with the SATA controller, otherwise your going to need to nLite the SATA controller drivers into your xp disc or dust off an old floppy and F6 during setup.
