I bought one of these 2.5" laptop solid state hard drives and I just though I would share my hdtach test info.
model was
32GB Samsung MCAQE32G5APP-0XA00 Solid State Drive, 2.5" IDE (PATA)

impressions , very very light as its mainly plastic case and single pcb

Speed is definitly faster than the current 2.5" drives I have been using. it only uses the ata66 speed interface mind you.

Price , hmm if the company i worked for were not paying for it I think it would be a while before i got one. was £313 inc vat

haha i'd live with the extra few seconds it takes for me to do stuff, i dont care how lightning fast it is, £313 for 32GB, rofl!

intresting, I wonder if using one of these would help boost my laptops battery performance significantly, what's the power consumption ?

IIRC negligible when non-operating, peaks at 0.9w during read/write.

I doubt this is vastly limited by the interface, using SATA 3Gbps wouldn't make much of a difference.
