So I got bored today at work and sat here with all these unused machines around me, I got an idea. Why don't I try and utilise them for my evil folding empire ?
Can't really format the drives as they might have something important on them (not likely but best to be sure), so I need a way to make it into a temporary folding beast.
Since then I've been spending my afternoon getting a USB memory key prepped, loaded up with Ubuntu, installed the F@H client on it and its now hapily folding away. The best bit about this is that at any moment, I can shut it all down, remove my memory key and start folding on another spare computer
I'm still trying to get the client to auto-start in a terminal window so I can keep an eye on it, but its only one command to run when it starts. So far it will only run automatically as a service, but thats not as interesting to look at
