"Well, I moved into my current flat 5 months ago on a 6 month lease. I recently requested to my landlord another 6 month term and he offered it at an inflated rate. So I looked around and am going for a different flat.

Well here is the lazy bit, I never filled in my council tax form and so haven't paid any in 5 months. Now my current landlord has requested that I supply him with copies of the bills.

Now do I:

A: Fake them
B. Ring up the council and say I'm staying in a flat for a month and pay for one month.
C. Own up for being a lazy article to the council and backdate pay?"

He needs advice.

Landlord has probably asked for the copies as he's been presented with a court summons for non-payment due to it falling to the owner to pay if no one at the property does so.

Ouch how much will the bill be? You have no option other than paying you cannot defraud the council as they will find you and come down like a tonne of bricks.

I can assure you it isn't Mark in question.

I think the best bet for him would be to pay it, otherwise he could end up digging himself a bigger hole.

None payment is getting into bailiff territory, You don't want one of them coming round to take you computer away :O

(bailiffs have way to much power)

We moved into my old shared house last dec, paid the first quarter installment around march, moved out in late june/early july and never paid for the second quarter.

Never heard anything about it from either the council or estate agents...

However councils have up to 5 years I believe to claim money owed - so you're far from being in the clear.
